Cleaning up[]

I'm currently cleaning up this article. There were three major errors:

  1. Cross-wiki links were in long format (e.g. http://quake.wikia.com/wiki/Quake). Such links should be in short format:
    • Links to the Doom wiki must use the D template, e.g. Heretic. This is so that the Doom Wiki links category is added to such pages, so that when the linked article is duplicated here, the links can be found and altered.
    • All other cross-wiki links should be in standard Wikia shortlink format, e.g. w:c:quake:Quake (this markup usually works on other MediaWiki wikis, such as StrategyWiki or Wikipedia, provided the "w:" is changed to "wikia:".)
  2. Some of the links were wrong, such as to the Seven Portals level instead of (as intended) the hub. (And a Hub 1 level was misidentified as "Hub 2".)
  3. Several levels were listed as standalone (mostly the secret levels, with the exception of Hub 5's secret level, Vivarium). There are no standalone levels in Hexen; even the Winnowing Hall is part of Hub 1. (The fact that you can't return to Winnowing Hall after entering the hub proper doesn't negate this; you also can't return to the Necropolis after you enter Dark Crucible, but that doesn't mean that Dark Crucible isn't part of Hub 5.)

There were also instances of pointless pipes, such as Korax. Honestly people, just Korax is ample.

I've spotted what I think is another major error: "and like Heretic[, Hexen] is set on the world of Chronos." Surely part of the back-story of the Trilogy as a whole is that the three Serpent Riders each conquered a different world? Indeed, a quick check of both the Doom Wiki and of Wikipedia reveals that Heretic is set on an Elven world called Parthoris; Chronos (the setting of Hexen) is a Human world where the forces of magic are "both stronger and more rigidly controlled" than on Parthoris. — RobertATfm (talk) 19:36, May 18, 2014 (UTC)

You are correct it is Parthoris - I had spotted this but I couldn't remember which page I had seen it on, must be getting old! Agerweb (talk) 23:43, May 19, 2014 (UTC)

Also don't agree about Winnowing Hall or with Doom Wiki. It is not part of Hub 1 because you can't return to it, consequently it breaches Doom wiki's definition of a hub. My opinion of course and doesn't matter a jot.Agerweb (talk) 16:03, May 21, 2014 (UTC)
