These orbs can spawn randomly for the Necromancer when he slays an enemy, and are the product of the his Soul Gathering ability, which is acquired at Level 3.
Soul Sphere power-ups represent the life force of the slain foe. Picking them up gives the Necromancer some health and (sometimes) Mana. Picking up these orbs is a good way to save other health/mana items for later use.
The power-up can always be very useful, especially when facing numerous enemies at once, or after a long battle. Players should pick it up quickly as it fades away after a while.
