The Silver Shield is an armor artifact found in Heretic.
Overview[]
Upon pickup, it will raise the player's armor to 100 points, regardless of how many points of armor the player had beforehand. If the player already has 100 or more points of armor, the Silver Shield will not be picked up, so the Silver Shield can never do the player harm.
So long as the player has armor, it will absorb 50% of damage received in a single attack.
