The Mace of Contrition is a weapon used by Parias in Hexen.

The mace is Parias' starting weapon, and as such is not very useful beyond the earlier parts of the game. It is a good melee weapon to use on single targets to conserve ammo, but not very helpful when fighting groups. Due to this, your highest priority as the Cleric is to find the Serpent Staff.
