Eidolon's Lair is the first map of Hub 1: Blackmarsh (Portal of Praevus) of Hexen II Mission Pack: Portal of Praevus, and also where the game begins.
The level takes place in an underground complex whose entrance is directly under the arena where Eidolon was defeated. The Demoness opened a hole in the earth and descended into the darkness. The other four adventurers soon followed.
The level features Eidolon's throne room, a series of wind tunnels, a small librabry, and some magical machinery.
The mysterious Nightmare Difficulty portal is hidden somewhere in this level. Finding it requires solving a relatively hard puzzle.

The player's primary task is to obtain the Sphere of Order and unlock the way towards the Village of Turnabel.
