Darchala's Chaos Device is a support artifact found in Heretic, Hexen and Hexen II.
Heretic & Hexen[]
The device can be used from the players inventory, and will teleport them to the beginning of the level. It can come in handy if you are swamped with enemies, or about to die from a fall (Hexen only).
Hexen II[]
The device in Hexen II works slightly different from its predecessors. Instead of teleporting the player to the start, it will teleport them to a (previously visited) random location in the level.
Notes[]
- Heretic II uses this item as well, but in the form of a spell known as Teleport.
- In Hexen v1.0, this item and the Disc of Repulsion were named the wrong way around, and this mistake was copied by some editors such as WinDEU. It was corrected in v1.1.
- The insignia on the front of the device closely resembles the Symbol of Chaos, designed by Michael Moorcock.
