Blackmarsh is the first level of Blackmarsh, the first hub of Hexen II. It serves as an introductory level with fewer enemies and simpler puzzles.
The level consists of several indoor areas with a stretch of outdoor wilderness between them. The areas include an unnamed tomb, the tomb of Leoric, a small chapel and a wizard's laboratory.
Objectives[]
The player's first task is to obtain the Bones of Loric. Once they have been ground into dust at The Mill, they can be used to create a Potion of Mithril Transmutation.

- In the demo version of the game, this level also includes The Mill, which is otherwise a separate map in the full version.
- Officially, the two Sheep in this map are named Zentron and Oatmeal, named in honor of the webmasters who helped out Raven Software in a situation unrelated to web pages.[1]
