The Abandoned Observatory is a level cut from Mazaera, the second hub of Hexen II. It is present in the 0.23 beta.
Although functional, the level shows many signs of being unfinished. All of the strings, including the map title, are blank, and the “power pool” entity will be absent. There is one Iron Golem in the level, but he is stuck in the geometry. Despite its name, there does not appear to be an observatory present either. It is merely a short complex that leads to a large subterranean cave with water and lava areas. There is only one exit, and it leads to the Court of 1000 Warriors. There is a plaque in the cave, but it has no message. Some features such as a collapsing tunnel trap and a moving raft ride are functional, though.[1]
